Twitch / Discord / YouTube Comments / Unbans
These are the rules for FriendlyBaron's Twitch Chat, Discord Server, and YouTube Comments. Breaking of these rules will lead to a ban - if you wish to be unbanned, there is a procedure below on how to send an unban appeal.
1. Don't be overly edgy with memes.
This means if it's not something you'd expect to hear from Baron himself, then it probably doesn't belong in my chat/discord/comments either. Take cues from the other things being posted first, and ask a mod if you aren't sure.
2. No racism, sexism, bigotry, hate-speech, etc.
No porn/gore or other 18+ images as well. This includes your username and profile picture.
3. Do not use words like "aids," "retarded," "cancer," "gay," or "rape" in a derogatory or joking manner.
This list of words is not a full list, just because a word isn't included does not mean it is allowed. Refer to #1.
4. Be respectful of others.
Not having the same opinion as someone is a great way to have a discussion, but do not allow it to turn into an argument. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
5. Open discussion of almost anything is welcome on discord, but keep it civil. However, Politics/Religion/Etc will be deleted/ignored in Twitch Chat and YouTube comments.
Refer to rule #1 on what kind of topics are generally allowed. Discord is heavily moderated for certain discussions, but other locations we won't even attempt to have those discussions, they aren't fun there :)
6. No self promotion.
We don't come into your community and promote ourselves, we appreciate the same respect. If your post is on topic adding to the conversation and you are an active member in the community, then posting your content is fine. If unsure, then ask a mod first and they can guide you. Do not passively self-insert your stream when inappropriate either.
7. What to do if asked if you read the rules:
If asked by FriendlyBaron or his Moderators if you have read this page, please answer "I ate a banana while reading the rules". This is to ensure you actually read them and don't just say you did, it's very fun to catch people out on
8. No Active or Passive Promotion of Others
Do not advertise your friends stream or another streamer, even if they are doing charity/special/event whatever streams. Same as rule #6, we will not do this to you, don't do it to us. You are free to PM a moderator or Baron if you wish to ask through the right channels. This includes asking for a host/raid, I will almost for sure not do it if asked to do so.
Passive Promotion of others is lightly inserting others into the conversation when inappropriate, see #6, such as "just finished watching [StreamerName]", "i hope [StreamerName] goes live soon" or "only watching you until [StreamerName] goes live". This is rude to both me and the other streamer - I would never want someone doing this using my name in anothers chat - if it is reported to me, It will be treated with a ban the same as someone doing it in my channel.
9. Do not disrepect other streamers/Baron about their content
Phrases like "[StreamerName] is better", "you are much better than [StreamerName]", or "i don't like [Thing] that [StreamerName] does" will not be tolerated. Goes for youtube comments in the same way, of course. Same as the second part of #7, this is rude to both streamers at the same time, I would never want to see someone saying this about me in anothers channel, and will ban you in my channel if you do so if anyone links me a vod/screenshot/etc of you doing so. If you /do/ prefer someone elses content over me, or mine over theirs, thats fine - keep it to yourself.
10. These rules are not hard-set, but more of a guideline, and may be tightened or loosened as the staff find fit.
Use common sense and you will be fine. Twitch has a higher influx of trolls and malicious users so we ban pretty quickly, so use the unban function if you feel you are not either of those. For Discord, We would rather explain to someone with a first warning why we don't want a certain post/content in the community rather than just ban them right away. Complaining about moderation/rules is not okay either - use PMs for that if you wish to discuss it with Baron or a moderator.
11. Unbans
If you wish to be unbanned, join this discord and follow the directions - you will have to write a small form explaining who you are, why you were banned, and why you should be unbanned. (This server exists because otherwise you cannot DM a bot unless you share a server with it). Discord is FREE and doesn't require a download, you can use it in a browser.
